What Happens After You Pay
Once DPS processes your reinstatement fee and confirms that all other conditions are met, the suspension clears from your driving record within 24 to 48 hours. You will not receive a confirmation letter in most cases. Instead, the system updates and you become eligible to renew your license or apply for reinstatement at any driver's license station.
If your license expired during the suspension, you must renew it in addition to paying the reinstatement fee. If your suspension lasted longer than one year, you may also need to retake the written knowledge test before reinstatement.
Insurance Requirements After Reinstatement
Mississippi requires all drivers to carry liability insurance meeting the state's minimum limits: $25,000 per person for bodily injury, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $25,000 per accident for property damage.
